Directions
By Car: The estate is bordered to the south by the A699 and the east by the A6089.
By Train: the nearest mainline train station is Berwick-upon-Tweed.

Visitors can see the holly tree that marks the spot where James II of Scotland was killed on 3 August 1460. Tours of the house include the bird room, where the sixth Duke's collection of stuffed birds sits rather oddly in their gothic cases.

Visitors are also invited to explore the grounds, including the Woodland and Riverside walk, from where - if you're lucky - you could see oyster catchers, herons or green plovers on the River Tweed.

There is also the Millennium Parterre, created in the woodland in 2000 as a complement to the Walled Garden.
